Travel Edition: Home To Dos

Travel Edition: Home To Dos. If you are going away this month to visit family members or just going on vacation with your family like I am. There are some things you need or should do at home before leaving it behind.

                                                      Months/Month Before:

Find someone to watch your pet

You can ask family members, friends, or even get an agency to take care of your pets. Make sure that you inform them of all the things they need for your pet as well as an extra number for them to contact you.

Find someone to water the plants and keep an eye on your home

Have a neighbor keep an eye on your home. Having someone drop by to water plants and bring in the mail is nice to do.

Week/ Weeks Before:

Give an assigned friend the spare key

Find out which family members or friends will be going away at the same time you are. Then ask the ones who are not going away to watch your home for you while you are away.

Tell bank card company that you are going away.

Letting them know that you are away will help so that they do not think someone has stolen your card and went on vacation with it. With them knowing ahead of time it will save you any bank hassle.

Pay all bills that need to be paid while you are gone

If you are able, try and pay your bills ahead of time so that you do not have to be worrying about if you have paid the light bill or rent while you are sitting on the beach. Also, it is easy to forget while you are having fun so getting it done before is a simple way to not have to worry about it.

Give away or eat any food that will spoil

We all know that food have expiration dates so having them sit in the fridge for two weeks will only get you spoiled food and a really bad smell in your home. So make sure that you have eaten or given away all the food that can spoil easily like cheese, bread or fruits and vegetables.

Make copies of important documents

This is a great idea. Have a copy of your important document such as your id, passport, birth certificate in case you need or unfortunately have lost your passport or id. It happens, but having a copy can save you some of the trouble of having to identify yourself.

Did you really think that is all? Of course not! Go on and explore I’d love to share more with you, check out my about page! I hope you have some time, I would love to hear from you.
