From This To That – Dress to Skirt With Added Length

skirt to dress

It is a beautiful day today. The sun is out and there is a nice breeze outside. One of the toilets are not working but other than that things are going good. I went by the lake this weekend and endlessly watched the water hit the rocky shoreline.

It was very hot on Saturday but my son and I enjoyed throwing rocks into the water, have some ice cream and spend time with family. Then I ended my day with some babysitting for my friend and came home very late so I was a sleepy mess yesterday. Oh the fun! I hope you had a great weekend.

Today I am going to show you a simple way to make a skirt from a elastic waited dress. For me I loved this dress and the price however it was a little short to my preference and it didn’t help that the top half was a little awkward on me. I still love it though so I decided to turn it into a skirt instead.

Here is my $5.00 – 8.00 dress from Urban Planet on Orfus Road
I un-seemed the top half of the dress.
This is what it looked like after.
Make sure to take off any extra left over sewing thread.
Just like that you have
I got some extra grey fabric and hand sewed it on.
Here is a closer view.
And just like that you got a skirt.
I hope you have some time, I would love to hear from
you. Leave a comment to say how much you enjoyed my post or even say hi, follow

the same! Have a wonderful creative day!
