IKEA Hack: Spraying BRIMNES

ikea hack brimnes

Okay, so this Ikea Hack is not too mind blowing in the transformation but simple that anyone can do. Even doing the smallest things to change something up like furniture can make a huge difference in the end. All you need is spray paint and you are all ready to go. I bought this dresser on sale during Ikea's bedroom event so I didn't have to pay the original cost. I wanted to give my new Ikea BRIMNES dresser a little hint of color or I guess I should say a hint of silver to go along with my bedroom closet reveal.

I got building and normally I am fine with the building but this time, I had a moment where I was all "I can do this... I don't need any help at all... I got this!" (insert pounding on chest here) until I made a mistake of using the wrong screws for both sides of the drawer. My arms were killing me trying to get the wrong screws in the wrong spot. I felt so defeated then but carried on (with some help of course) It is safe to say that I won't go pounding my chest again lol.

Once I was finished, I was so happy it was finally over and it looks fantastic!

The next day I took off the handles of the dresser and went to the balcony.

I bought Krylon's silver and transparent spray paint for around $4.00 (It was on sale at Canadian Tire) However I realized after I didn't need the transparent one.

I gave it a 15 minute or more dry time and it was ready to go back on my dresser. To avoid fumes from the spray paint I had my bedroom fan blowing on it until I couldn't smell the fumes anymore.

Placing the handles back onto the dresser drawers was the last step for me and then it was finished!
