Pantry Organizing

pantry organizing

My pantry is officially completed along with the pantry section. In case you missed the pantry section by all means, you should check that out. It is a completely different space from before, I utilized every inch of the wall and even added more to my original plan. Much better than before! Now, I am happy to share the finished inside of the pantry.

I transformed this IKEA DOMBAS wardrobe into my pantry by adding in shelves instead of the rod. You can see the entire progress of that transformation here.

This is what the inside looked like before.

Now, this is what it looks like now with the added shelves.

Pantry Organizing

Pantry organizing was so much fun and shopping for it was fantastic (probably not for the cashier). We filled up our Dollarama small cart with many glass containers ranging in different sizes so that our pantry could be organized nicely. The cashier had to wrap each and every one of them since they are glass.

On the second round of container shopping (yes there was a second round) at Dollarama the cashier gave us a box to put it in. Dollarama has the best-priced glass containers, I mean who wouldn’t love buying containers that only cost $2.00-1.50!

After a wash, dry and label, I was ready to fill up the jars and shelve them onto the shelves.

Baskets

One of my favourite spots in the pantry is the chips section. I found this wire basket in the As-Is section of IKEA for $4.00. It is perfect for my siblings to grab their chips and go, but it is also high up for my son to not reach it. I tried placing it at the bottom of the pantry and found my son sitting on the floor eating chips.

Glass Storage Containers

The glass storage containers look fantastic against the homemade paper. Having these storage containers gets rids of all those bags and boxes while giving us the luxury of seeing what we have. We won’t be able to forget what snacks we have anymore because of the different container heights and labels.

Lower down, we have baskets and containers to store everything from rice to flour to pasta. I am still searching for an affordable large container to hold our rice and sugar, but until then we will have to settle with what we have.

Other Side of the Pantry

On the other side of the pantry is where my things will be stored. I have more to add in and grocery shopping to do to fill this side up. The bottom is a little awkward for me to store some of my things so I think that I will add another shelf inside for more shelving.

A girl can’t live without her candy. I made sure my candy was well taken care of in these cute Dollarama containers.

I am in love with my new pantry. The organizing looks great, we can see everything and the amount of space compared to the old pantry is pretty amazing. We are all benefiting from this organized beauty.

I hope you have some time, I would love to hear from you. Leave a comment to say how much you enjoyed my post or even say hi, follow me on TwitterFacebookGoogle+Pinterest, and Instagram page or even subscribe. I will do the same! Have a wonderfully creative week!

There is a simple trick you can do to get some organizing done that doesn’t take much effort at all. Buy a storage shelf or decorative box or a under the bed storage bag. Have I been scavering in IKEA’s ‘As Is’ section again? Not recently, but I did during the time of when I was working on my pantry project. I found two of these ALGOT storage shelf there and this one only cost me $4.00! I used the other one as a chips storage pull out shelf in my pantry project and left this one just for my bedroom.
