Green Living Show 2016

Green Living Show 2016 | City of Creative Dreams

This is the event I have been waiting for. If you haven’t noticed by now, I love green, organic, natural and well anything that betters the earth, our family and us so when I saw that this weekend-long show was coming around soon, I knew I had to score myself some tickets. These tickets usually cost around $15.00 but they were offering free tickets for the show a month before the show and I could not say no to free! This is my first time at this event so you can believe my excitement.

First, we had to get there. I went on a Saturday evening after work. My little man and I took the subway to Union station.
We journeyed through that under-construction station then gave up and just walked outside to the Metro Convention Centre.

We arrived around evening and there were still a lot of people there, enough to still be able to push my stroller around. However, I have to be completely honest with you, I am not sure if it is because of the long day but, I was disappointed that a lot of companies didn’t want to be so chatting. Some were not even trying to really get my attention or overall excited to really show me their stuff. I don’t know if it was because I look too young or maybe I do not look like I am in their price range but regardless I thought more would be engaged.

In my line of work, regardless of age and status companies are supposed to want to get your attention, they are supposed to want to show you their stuff without having to wait around for me to say something or to have a list of questions prepared ahead of time to ask when you (the company) is job is supposed to tell me about your company. It is basic customer service 101. That was the only downfall I had.

Other than that, I enjoyed the companies that in my option stood out, who wasn’t afraid to say “hey let me tell you about my company“. I love that, even if I wasn’t planning on checking out this booth, a simple greeting in my direction will get anyone to listen for a moment. It is the personal interest that gets anyone feeling special and those companies in my eyes stood out and made me want to grab a flyer, business card and even add them to my list of future collaborations. When a company is excited to share their creation or product then I am excited to hear about it and share it with all of you.

I tried some delicious food, bought gluten-free cookies for my mom, admired amazing jewelry, desired dreamy eco-cars and tried a Dyson vacuum which I loved and to be frank, it will be the closest I will ever get to have on in my life. There were so many booths that I couldn’t possibly check everyone out. I did see a few familiar companies that I been raving about like Live Clean there.

Will I attend next year? I will definitely make an effort. Even if some weren’t as engaging, I learned so much more about what is new out there to make this place a greener one and overall accomplished my mission to finding amazing companies out there. There is never enough learning and I can’t wait to share more about all the fantastic companies that stood out to me in my upcoming posts.

I hope you have some time, I would love to hear from you. Leave a comment to say how much you enjoyed my post or even say hi, follow me on TwitterFacebookGoogle+PinterestInstagram page or even subscribe. I will do the same! Have a wonderfully creative weekend!
