When was the last time you took a vacation at some luxurious resort? Not many of us have the possibility or the privilege to go on luxurious vacations in resorts whenever we want. There are many factors to consider: the time of the year, can you take a leave of absence from work, and the amount of money you can set aside for such trips. This, however, doesn’t mean that you should give up on your dreams. With a bit of creativity, the right tools, and some effort, you can turn your backyard into a proper paradise resort.
Get comfy

How do you expect to relax at the resort of your own making if you don’t have a comfy place to sit and lie down? Spending time outside will do you good, you’ll be able to relax while listening to the chipper of birds and buzzing of bees, but you need to make sure that you have a nice place to spend time in while being outside. Get bean bags for both you and your kids and place them in the shade of your porch or under the trees. You can take out plenty of throw pillows and soft blankets which you can use to make yourself a lovely reading nook or simply use them when you’re sunbathing.

Light is important

Another great way to create a wonderful atmosphere in your backyard is to add some lighting to it. You can use outdoor rope lights to line the stairs of your porch, wrap your trees and make them look like they’re covered in fairy lights, or accent your outdoor umbrellas and add something new to garden parties. You can also use old mason jars to light your flower beds: simply put a bit of sand in there and place a candle in the sand. This way, the flame will not touch any plant and you’ll be able to place these jars pretty much everywhere: hang them on the fence, or even on the tree.

Get the right plants
The best way to feel like you’re away is to create an exotic environment, and the easiest way to do that is to bring some tropical plants and plant them in your backyard. Tropical-like environment means plenty of hibiscus, fern, and day lilies – these will thrive in your climate too. Even some trees that can be found in the Caribbean can survive in your backyard, and they will make shade and great atmosphere at the same time. Still, new plants need a lot of care, so make sure you have the right gardening tools for them: small weeders, trowels, and gardening forks are all necessary for keeping your garden neat and healthy.

Make a plunge pool
One of the most important things when trying to make a paradise resort from your boring garden is to make sure there is a pool. If you don’t have a pool, you can easily make one yourself using only several pallets and a 100l IBC and place it anywhere in your backyard. Pools are great because they create a stunning atmosphere and allow you to relax like you’re at a real resort. The size of the pool is not really important, you can have a small DIY pool or a huge one, but as long as it’s there you’ll feel like you’re in heaven.

You can transform any garden and a yard into incredibly luxurious space if you set your mind to it. it doesn’t mean that it will be easy; you will probably have to work hard and spend a lot of time outside, but with a specific goal in mind, you will be able to make all your dreams of having a beautiful backyard come true. You won’t have to travel to exotic places to have a royal-style vacation; your backyard will be luxurious enough.
