Travel Edition: Travel Organizing

Travel Edition: Travel Organizing. Right now, I am on vacation in Dominica right now (not the Dominican Republic) if you want it may be easier to say the Commonwealth Of Dominica lol. Dominica is pronounced here as “Dom-i-nee-ka” I know, I know it’s basically the same spelling just a different way of saying it.

So far I flew from Newark to Antigua (I stayed a few hours in Newark and one night in Antigua) and from Antigua to Dominica. But first I was in Antigua and well let’s say the internet was not being too kind to me so that is why I am posting now.

Here is a quick map of where I am located.

I am somewhere here.

As you can tell even on my trip I can’t help but share what I have been up but I do want to share what I have been up to. So the past while I have been getting ready for my trip. I can imagine you may be also doing the same with your family but before you pack your things to leave there are a few things you should do or think about doing.

Book Transportation Tickets For Bus, Train Or Plane.

(You don’t need to if you driving)

That is obvious I know but it’s good to keep an eye out for good transportation deals. When you know which days you want to leave make sure you continuously check on deals so that you don’t have to spend a fortune. Of course, if you driving, you don’t have to worry too much about that. But make sure your vehicle is up to date and checked on before hitting the road.

Apply For Passport or Renew Passport

(If need to)

If you are going out of the country as I have then you may need to renew your passport. Check your expiring dates on all the passports. Depending on where you live, renewing or even applying for a passport the office is rather a long waiting line. If you want to avoid that long waiting line checks the offices that are not very busy.

Believe me, it is worth the distance because when I did this, there was no line (and I went at 1 pm) As soon as the lady passed me my number for waiting, the next desk had my number flashing for me. No waiting at all! I went on a Wednesday and the next Wednesday my passports arrived at my door.

Book and Finalize Hotel Arrangements

(If your are not saying family or friends)

Finding your place of stay for a great price is like a vacation for savings. Knowing how much the hotel will estimate how much it will cost comes in handy. So when you have picked where you would like to vacation keep your eye out on the hotels. Near attractions and has, a pool is very popular so try to get one as soon as there is a great deal.

Make A List Of Things Need To Buy For This Trip

Making a list early gives you the much-needed time to get things done and buy all the needed items for your trip. Don’t wait until the last minute to get things done it will only lead to stress and your vacation may not be too pleasant.

I used my To Do/ To Buy List Printable.

Search Activities

Figuring out what you want to do ahead of time like water skiing, roller coasters, and water slides and don’t forget to jot down the prices. This way you have an idea of the activities that you want to go to as well as an estimated budget of how much all these activities will cost.

Finalize Budget

Take in all the things we talked about like hotel, activities, and transportation budgets and have them in one spot. You now have a reference that you can continue to go to, of how much certain things will cost.

Did you really think that is all? Of course not! Go on and explore I’d love to share more with you, check out my about page! I hope you have some time, I would love to hear from you. 1. It's amazing how many people don't properly plan for a trip. They might get the main things like plane tickets etc. but don't really look into options for getting around the city or things to do in the area. My sister-in-law went to Dominica awhile back and made sure we knew how to pronounce it too. 🙂 Hope you're having a fabulous time. Thanks for linking up to Gingerly Made's Show & Tell.
