Bedroom Closet – The Dream Plan

small bedroom closet

My closet needs love…real love also organization and style aka Stylezation (Oh yeah I made up a word).  I mean it. I opened (the now off the track) slide door of my closet and was overwhelmed. Me starring at my small closet suddenly felt very large and tall.

Think Jack and the Bean Stock but me and my closet. Dramatic but true. All I saw was clothes, junk, a million of hangers, a billion jeans (that I do not wear), shoes and more clothes. It was daunting. I couldn’t see the back wall of my closet.

(The Before)

How in the world did it get this way? Answer: Me. I been neglecting it. Honestly whenever I look at my closet I quickly close the door and hide. I don’t like it. My closet doesn’t represent what I want from it. I want simple yet glam, with a pop of colour or texture but over all I want it to be well ORGANIZED! with a capital O!

Let’s start with my plan shall we?

The top shelve is great for my luggage that I had shoved under my bed. It will be a way better view then the boxes that are originally up there. Next to it I was thinking about adding one or two of these InterDesign Classico Shelf Dividers for if I decide to use it for jeans or linen.

Closet Drawers

I desperately need extra drawers. The one I have is great but I am realizing that one dresser is not enough for me. I don’t have the space for another one so this slim version I found online at IKEA seems to fit what I am looking for. It is the BRIMNES 4-drawer white chest. I love that the first drawer has frosted glass.

You might be shocked that I chose white since my room has tons of dark colours but that is the reason why I went into that direction. I want the closet to feel bright and not so dark. Hmm spray painting the handles sounds good too!

Storage Baskets

For shelves racks on my lower part of my closet I want clear drawers or storage baskets to hold any extra clothing or closet things I may need such as linens. Something along the line of this InterDesign Chevron Soft Storage.

Everything will be based on how much fits into the drawers. So anything left out will have to be stores somewhere else either the top shelf or bottom self. No item will be left behind lol.

After that it is the shoe section that I will most likely leave it the way that it is. I should get rid of the shoes that I never wore tho. Over all, I am excited to give my closet a makeover. After working on home projects for my siblings. It is nice to be about to treat my room too! Stay turn for the progress.

I hope you have some time, I would love to hear from you. Leave a comment to say how much you enjoyed my post or even say hi, follow me on TwitterFacebookGoogle+PinterestInstagram page or even subscribe. I will do the same! Have a wonderful creative week!
