Decor Inspiration: One Bedroom Apt – Living Room

ikea decor living room

This past week I helped my aunt move into her new, one bedroom apartment. She asked my option on the things that she wanted to buy from my favorite store, IKEA!. Even though we already we through the process of getting most of the things already, I wanted to put together a vision board or inspiration board of what I imagine this space could be with some more added touches.

Here is the Idea:

So far the couch, pillows, air chair and the lamp has been bought, however, I wanted to add my decor touch to it with some art, candles, rug, and flowers. I was leaning towards more browns, whites and reds with the decor choices since my aunt’s furniture are darker colors. Plus she is also into red so the red candles are a great touch for a burst of color.

I like to keep away from buying furniture with bold, bright colors and since I don’t have a lot of money to be able to buy a whole new couch or air chair when I suddenly wake up and say “Oh I hate my large red or purple couch“. Pillows and decor are easy to change in colors and it doesn’t cost too much to change it. You also have the option to spray paint into different colors as well.
