If you are trying to decide what to write in a wedding card then this article is for you! We all have weddings that we go to at least once a year or every two years. So, you are going to need some wedding wishes in order to provide congratulations to the bride and groom, am I right? I am going to show you some simple but loving, go-to wedding wishes.

Saying Congratulations

Yes, you could simply put congratulations on a wedding card. It is okay to do this and call it a day but why not take it a step further and really put thought into your words. I mean think about it, when you open a card, don’t you look for a comment or snippet of appreciation or congratulations that are beyond the word itself. So, let’s do the same for the bride and groom, shall we?

What to Write in A Wedding Card

To be polite, for couples that are more traditional or even just have a more traditional family, you should avoid writing “best wishes” on their card. So, let’s get into more detail, it doesn’t have to be a long paragraph but something that is short, sweet and excellent.

Formal Wedding Card

Think black tie and fancy gowns all around. Your card doesn’t have to be as fancy as what you are going to see at this wedding. But your words in your wedding card can be just as formal as this wedding occasion.

Examples:

  • “Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this beautiful wedding. Wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness.”
  • “Bask in this moment and allow your love to continue to grow forever.”
  • “Best wishes on this wonderful journey, as you build your new lives together.”
  • “Your love is inspiring! I wish you all the best ad you embark in this new life together.”
  • “May your love continue to grow for the many years ahead.”
  • Wishing you love, joy, laughter and an abundance of happiness through the years to come.”

Casual Wedding Card

Of course, not everyone wants to do a formal card, you may just want to be yourself and say something easy but gets the job done at the same time. Which is completely okay, you want this card to represent you and who you are not someone else. Here are ways to say congratulations in the best way.

Examples:

  • “I am so happy for you, Congratulations!”
  • “Congratulations on your big day!”
  • “Wishing you lots of happiness.”
  • “Wishing you lots of love, happiness and laughter.”
  • “I love you. Congratulations, {Bride and Groom’s names}.”
  • “Love always today and beyond.

Funny Wedding Card

Now if none of that is your thing, then you must be a funny person. Depending on the right bride and groom, you can surely make the bride and groom laugh. This not only makes you stand out but also shows your personality.

Examples:

  • “It is always the best time when drinks are on you! Congrats!”
  • “Welcome to the club. Remember she is always, ALWAYS right!”
  • “My marriage advice is this, a happy wife is a happy life, my friend.”
  • “People are going to tell you that a happy wife is a happy life… they are right, just do it and you won’t be sorry!”
  • “Thanks for the free food, drinks and entertainment as your gift to me. Congratulations on your big day!
  • “Congrats! I know you will take care of my {friend}, I know he/she can’t survive without your cooking.”

Good article. Has some excellent ideas to build upon. I look onto it as a lifesaver because I struggle with writing anything with any finesse.
