4 Signs You Need a Break

4 Signs You Need a Break | CIty of Creative Dreams

We all know how important it is to take a break from time to time for both our physical and mental health and yet a surprising one-third of people in the UK don’t take their full holiday entitlement. Why? Work may be busy, money may be tight, or perhaps just because people feel they’re not entitled to. There are way too many of us running ourselves into the ground which is reducing our productivity levels, causing unnecessary stress and even increasing our risk of a range of illnesses.

Holidays are great, they’re all about exploring new areas, creating new memories, spending time with loved ones and most importantly just relaxing. Give yourself a few days off and you’ll be surprised how refreshed and raring to go you are when you get back to your regular work routine.

Take a look below to see if you’re experiencing any of the tell-tale signs that show you’re close to burning out (and that should encourage you to take that break you’ve been day-dreaming about!)

Here are the signs!

1) You’re eating more comfort than normal. We get it, cupcakes are delicious, but is there really a need for four of them, in a row?!

2) You haven’t posted anything on social media for a long time because nothing exciting has happened… Or you’re getting irrationally angry at your friends’ pictures of their holiday. (Don’t worry it’s a common problem)

3) You’ve upped your coffee intake by at least 3 cups per day. I mean a double shot is perhaps okay for that dragging Monday morning, but a significant increase in caffeine consumption has an array of detrimental health effects, even if it does give you a nice short-term ‘buzz’.

4) You oversleep more than once a week and pressing that snooze button has become an everyday occurrence rather than a once a month incident.

Even if it is just for a weekend getaway, hiring a holiday cottage is the perfect way to unwind and press that reset button. Lyme Bay Holidays has a host of beautiful Cottages in Dorset, Devon & Somerset, there’s sure to be the perfect one for you to make your time off really special.
