If I am talking about 6 things to do with family in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, I must have been there recently, right? True. Some trips are planned and on my Pinterest Dream Vacation board, and some come unexpectedly. This trip is that for me. It was unexpected, not planned by me at all, and it came my way at my busiest time of year (back-to-school season & summit speaker commitments). But I made it through.
This past week of October, my husband, our son, and I travelled to St. Vincent and the Grenadines for a week, along with my in-laws (mother-in-law, uncles, and aunts). If you have travelled with family, you know these group trips come with a lot of moving parts, and honestly, a few surprises right from the start. But it also gave us memories we’ll talk about for years.
So if you’re planning a family trip to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, or you simply love a good travel recap, grab a snack and let me walk you through things to do in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
1. Stay at The Blue Lagoon Hotel & Marina

Even though our plane was delayed, by the time we arrived at Blue Lagoon Hotel & Marina, we were tired, hungry, and ready to settle in (at least I was). We had breakfast and a few dinners at the hotel restaurant (The Loft), and the customer service was excellent.
The hotel itself is beautiful, full of my favourite shades of blue. Very clean and well kept. No bugs or other creatures in the rooms (which is highly important to me). I love being right by the water and seeing the boats. Hearing the water outside the window is so amazing and peaceful. Here are a few other highlights:
- Shop for Essentials, Snacks, and Drinks
- Ice Cream Shop
- 24-Hour Front Desk
- Free Wi-Fi
- Free On-site Parking
- Air-Conditioned Rooms
- Swimming Pool
FYI – If you are allergic to cats, like me, be aware there are stray cats and dogs in the area; however, for the most part, they don’t bother you unless they think you have food.

2: A Ferry Ride to Bequia and a Day at Princess Margaret Beach

Put this at the top of your list if you take one day trip in the Grenadines. We took an about 45-minute ferry ride (via Bequia Fast Ferries) to Bequia and spent the day at Princess Margaret Beach, which sits along Admiralty Bay. The water was stunning; there were barely any people on the beach; the pace was slow, and our whole group had space to relax however we wanted. Some went to the nearby bars, used a drone, went in the water, and lay on the beach. We even found a starfish!
My son enjoyed the water but didn’t love the sand. So I will make a mental note to bring something next time that makes it easier to get the sand off him after being in the water. I am open to suggestions in the comments! Here are my must-have bag Essentials:
- Back Pack/ Beach Bag
- Sunscreen
- Bug Repellent
- Water & Snacks
- Towel
- Change of Clothes

3. Black Point Tunnel

This tunnel is in Black Point Heritage Park, by the beach. From what I know, people carved it through volcanic rock in the early 1800s, and it’s about 300ft long.
Now, walking through it is an interesting experience. I personally haven’t been through a cave like this before, but there is plenty of light so you can see what’s around you. There are water areas, and one is even perfect for washing your feet. Bats fly around, but they don’t seem interested in bothering us. At the end of the cave, you’ll see beautiful scenery. The Black Point Heritage Park also has gazebos, washrooms, barbecue pits and a playing field.

4. Owia Salt Pond

Owia Salt Pond Recreational Site was a favourite of mine during our visit to St. Vincent and the Grenadines. After about a long drive, you pull up to a recreation site with restrooms and showers. It is well maintained and perfect for fire pits and picnics in their gazebos. Nice dogs will greet you, convinced you have food for them lol.
Owia Salt Pond offers calm natural pools sheltered by rocks from the rougher Atlantic waves. It’s a gorgeous place to relax, take photos, and soak in the coastline. For those who want a higher view (aka my husband and son), you can carefully climb the rocks for an even better view.

5. Grenadines Island Tours with Tic Tac Tours + Charters SVG

We got to live out our celebrity lives on this Tic Tac Tours + Charters SVG, island-hopping all day in the Grenadines. We made beautiful beach stops, took in ocean views, saw sea turtles, snorkelled, and enjoyed the day surrounded by nothing but water and sand. A truly amazing experience.
This isn’t a ferry; it is a speedboat. So ocean water will hit you many times, depending on the wind that day. Simply wear a swimsuit and a cover-up. It can also get very bumpy since you’re on the ocean, so if you are like me and get motion sickness, make sure you have some motion-sickness essentials. Here is what I made sure to have with me at all times:

6. Leeward ATV Tours

My husband drove the ATV for the Leeward ATV Tours, and I was his passenger princess. We put on our bandanas, helmets, and sunglasses as we made our way along nature’s hidden trails toward a small waterfall and river. It was nice to sit back, let the wind run through my braids, capture great footage of everything we saw, and say hi to the locals. As we cruised the streets and rugged paths, watching my son truly enjoy himself (even though he really wanted to drive the ATV) was my ultimate highlight.
The weather was perfect, and the entire experience at Leeward ATV Tours was a lot of fun, with great customer service. They make sure everyone stays together and safe at all times. Definitely worth checking out.

Final Thoughts
The week flew by, and we made sure to spend time visiting family in St. Vincent. My son got to meet aunts, uncles, and great-grandparents he hasn’t seen in a long time. Many he has never met before. We checked out many restaurants, but I mostly stuck to my regular foods and even got KFC. This trip meant the world to my husband, and moments like these remind me that the best vacations aren’t the ones where everything goes perfectly. Every part of this week became a memory we’re grateful to have.
