Bookcase to Closet – Budget/Project Breakdown

Ikea Hack

You saw how I transformed a IKEA bookcase into a custom closet for my son when I was putting it all together in part one and when it was all finished at the reveal yesterday in part two.

Now, I wanted to show you the budget break down as well as the project break down of everything all together. How affordable this project really was and over all the shopping list for this project, just in case I have inspired you to create your very own you have a well structured blueprint.

I knew that I did not want to spend a lot of money on something that would take up room. I knew that so I had to think of something I could do. I saw something on Pinterest of someone transforming a bookcase into a closet. I thought that was fantastic! What I didn’t realize that my plan to create something like that would bring a whole new idea and creation.

Just on IKEA products alone I only spent $78.93. Since I got a great deal on the SUNDVIK children’s table it only help brought my budget lower. When you add the money I spent for the four drawers at Dollarama then my full total will come to $86.93. Still not bad price for something custom.

I space feels so much better. Less cluttered that for sure. My next target is this table that I want to give a makeover then some other places around the apartment. No space is safe from me anymore. I am on a mission to organised and style on a very affordable budget.
