Being the perfect host is all about going the extra mile for your guests. They are all there on your invitation, and that invitation is like a promise that they are going to have a great time while attending. And if it is one of the most important days of your life – your wedding day – this is even more important. It is a long event and your guests are there to enjoy the day with you, so make sure they are comfortable and having fun. Here are some tricks you can use to make your guests feel like this is also one of the best days of their life!

Make it personal

If you are hosting a big event, your guests can often feel like, even though they are invited, they are not really your focus, but rather an afterthought. Each person you invite is special to you or your partner, and you should let them know that. When planning the seating arrangements, consider placing a special personalized gift for each of your guests, instead of a party favor at the end. It doesn’t need to be anything big, just a token of your friendship and something that will make them feel like you truly thought of them. For example, a printed picture of the two of you, with a message written at the back of it, packaged together with a bow and some chocolates. You should also make time in your schedule to meet and talk to each guest individually. Yes, if you invited a lot of people, that is a lot of time, but if you split it between the pair of you, you will do it in no time and still be at your table in time for the main course.

A Taste of Something They Love

Just because someone once said that a wedding should have the option of chicken, fish or a kid’s meal. It doesn’t mean that you need to follow those rules. If you know your friends absolutely love a good pizza. Then why not make a pizza buffet, with all the different kinds of pizzas and toppings. And let them pick something new to try. Keeping it new and fresh is a great way to connect with your guests. Also, if your friends don’t usually have the chance to go out for fancy cocktails. Then looking into mixology in NYC can be a great treat for them. For one night, they can enjoy all the drinks they’ve been wishing to try, as well as some they’ve never heard of before! The drinks are showstopping and will definitely be a welcome treat!

Something for the Kids

It is always good manners to invite the entire family, which includes the young ones. It means that your friends don’t have to arrange for a babysitter – or worse, not attend at all. However, once there, the kids won’t be satisfied to sit at the table and talk. Instead, you should make sure there is some sort of entertainment arranged for them. Hire a team of babysitters and entertainers to make sure all of the kids are not only safe in their hands. But also having a great time. If you have any moments that you really want to be special, quiet or exactly the way you imagined. Make sure the babysitters know. You don’t want a bunch of toddlers running into you on the dance floor during your first dance. The parents will appreciate this beyond all measure, so make sure you include it in your invitations!

Supply the Necessities

Your guests are probably only thinking about what they are going to wear and what gift they are going to bring. So you need to be ready to supply them with anything they need to be comfortable. If it is an outdoor summer wedding, this means having baskets with fans, straw hats and disposable towels around the venue. Along with wet wipes, deodorant and refreshing mists in the bathrooms. Near the dance floor, you should place a cart with various sizes of ballet flats, so that high heels can be exchanged for extra dancing time.

Conclusion

When you are throwing a wedding, it is the planning that will determine how the day goes. You don’t want to be running around on your wedding day, trying to accommodate your guests. Give them love and thought before the event so that on the day you can relax. And have fun with them because that is what they expect and what will make you the perfect host.

  1. Great post Shanice! I totally agree and recently have had similar experience. My best friend got married two months ago. It has been a classic decor, fusion of old world glamour and contemporary architectural design with a Hamptons Style feel that was easy to achieve owing to the building itself a Function centre Sydney An unexpected spin on an old favorite, instead of usual floral decor they’ve used the potted plants. They’re describing this trend as greenery-with-a-twist — you get the same look of lush leaves filling your wedding venue, but with more versatility and variety. Plus, we were offered to take the plants home with us to enjoy long after the wedding is over!
